Design and Development

The COSALT design team create bespoke garments from basic single-layer workwear styles through to complicated high visibility and protective clothing for rail, aggregate and construction workers, fire-fighters, police and the MoD.

At COSALT, our design team have the most innovative set up which is how it arrives at the most innovate products. We take ideas from numerous sources of inspiration. Our products have style because we look at the media, extreme sports and the catwalks, to find what it is that our wearers will feel good in and will fit the function.

Then we use the collective 150 years experience that our employees bring,
and calculate not only how to meet industry legislation and safety standards,
but how to exceed them. We are in the best position to offer new and inspiring safety garments to all our sectors, as we deal in so many areas already.

If an idea we use on fire-fighter's clothing will work elsewhere, then we'll use it.
The design team use an array of hi-tech software to manage specifications from development though to production including the sealing sample procedure.

Pattern, grading and marker-making are controlled centrally for all production
sites as the control and traceability of specifications is paramount to the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 and Article 11B. The COSALT designers are right at the forefront of both design and development ensuring continuity of supply and quality control, from initial concept through to fruition.
